What is a cube?

A Cube is a three-dimensional shape with six square or rectangular sides. It is a three-dimensional solid object bounded by six square faces, facets or sides, where three of its sides meet at the vertex.

Formula

• Volume of Cube = a³
• Surface Area of Cube = 6a²
• Diagonal of Cube = Sqrt (3)*a

Example:  

Find the volume, surface area, and diagonal of a cube with the given side 3.

Step 1: Fine the Volume

Volume= a³ = 3³ = 27.

Step 2: Find the surface area.

Surface Area = 6a² = 6 * 3² = 6 * 9 = 54.

Step 3: Find the diagonal.

Diagonal = Sqrt(3)*a = Sqrt(3) * 3 = 1.73 * 3 = 5.19.
